Maarten van Beek

HR Directeur ING

Maarten lives in The Hague along with his partner Hally and children Boudewijn (10), Anna-Brechtje (9) and Elle-Noor (7). Maarten and his partner both work for ING, where Maarten holds the position of HR Director. Besides that, he is a supervisor at various organisations such as NPO, Cordaid and UAF. The combination of these activities can be hectic, but most of all gives a lot of energy and satisfaction.

Maarten believes in a future with equal opportunities and is committed to this every day. Maarten: 'Equal opportunities sound obvious, but unfortunately it isn't yet. Not even in the Netherlands. I experienced this when we returned to the Netherlands as a family after working in Sweden for several years. In Sweden, I witnessed and learned a lot in the field of diversity which I now want to implement in the Netherlands. As an HR professional, on a daily basis I see that we are not yet inclusive, and I will continue to work on that.'

"I am honoured to help WIFS achieve its goals, I strongly believe in inclusion. An inclusive organisation leads to an organisation with more diversity. In addition, it has now also been proven that an organisation with more diversity is more successful. The facts speak for themselves, but that does not necessarily make the journey to realise it easy."
