Mirelle van Gemert-Engelbert (48) has worked at Achmea for over 16 years. She executed various management roles in marketing, sales, underwriting and claims in damage insurance. Her last position here was within Zilveren Kruis, Achmea's health insurer, as senior manager Healthcare Procurement. In this position, she was responsible for the integral procurement of both first- and second-line care.

As of September 2022, Mirelle works independently in various sectors as interim manager and organisational advisor. She focuses on the development of organisations, teams and employees in the field of strategy and leadership.

Mirelle has a positive and optimistic attitude. She always seeks solutions and sees opportunities. She passes on this positivity and energy to those around her. She is good at connecting with her environment and getting people on board. She does this with a focus on both results and people. Her strength lies in innovating and optimising processes, developing teams and people performance. She knows how to quickly translate developments into vision, strategy and change processes. In her decision-making and execution, she is decisive and goes for realisation of the result together with her team.

Mirelle came in touch with WIFS via Achmea. She believes in the power of diverse teams and using and combining talents. Together with WIFS, she wants to work on increasing diversity and empowering women. By connecting, sharing and inspiring!

Mirelle was born and raised in Vught in Brabant. She studied commercial economics in Utrecht. Mirelle lives with her husband and two sons in Vught and enjoys travelling, hiking, yoga, reading and cooking.
