2022 finale: new board members & Christmas drinks

15/12/2022

We are delighted to welcome 3 new board members and reflect on the past year. On 14 December 2022 - since the outbreak of Corona - the first physical GMM and Christmas drink of WIFS took place again. For the occasion, we were hosted at ING Amsterdam.

Review: 2022
Our president Diana Zandbergen opened the ALV with a recap of the year 2022, which kicked off with the opinion piece regarding the 50/50 mission and the event on the occasion of International Women's Day at Triodos - where the launch of the Top 50 in collaboration with Tosca and Praise took place.

In January 2022, the second group - also known as Cohort 2 - of the Leadership Programme also began. Cohorts 3 and 4 followed later in the year. Another highlight was the three-day Dive In festival, of which one day took place at Van Lanschot Kempen. In addition, many other activities took place, from podcasts to powertalks and executive lunches.

A lot has also been achieved at WIFS in organisational terms during 2022. The branding of WIFS has been refreshed with a new logo, visual identity and website. Director Mirelle van Gemert together with the board, Jill Vriens and Lisa Bootsma, has given an internal and external boost. Both administratively and in terms of its image to the financial market. WIFS is on the map and that is producing results: four new business members have since joined. An achievement we are proud of and for which we would specifically like to thank Mirelle.

Board additions
After a successful restructuring of the association, a strong vision is being used to drive change in the financial sector and increase the ripple effect. Mirelle is stepping down as director but remains committed to WIFS. She joins the WIFS board for the second time with great enthusiasm and pleasure. Also Nelsy Salden and Coby-Wilma van Essen are joining the board. This with the unanimous vote of the members.

50/50 Accelerate
In conclusion, the '50/50 accelerate' study, in collaboration with Deloitte and the SER, was introduced. Seada van den Herik – chairman of the WIFS Advisory Board - is actively involved.

We are researching the regulation and impact of 50/50 within the financial services industry. In doing so, we are looking at the banking, insurance, pension, and investment sectors, and hope to bring the advisory sector on board as well. A big project, with a big investment of time. We hope the research will provide valuable insights for both us and the sector.

Before Diana concludes and the Christmas drinks are served, special attention is paid to the Advisory Board. The RvA is hugely involved in our work and we see that reflected in all the input we get from them, as well as their help in organising various events. For hosting the GMM and Christmas drinks reception (incl. dinner) we thank Maarten van Beek (HR Director ING).
